What is a Facial?

A general facial is a multi-step skin treatment that’s typically performed to cleanse, exfoliate, nourish and rejuvenate the skin. It’s one of the most popular skincare treatments and can be customised based on your skin type and concerns.

Black head removal is an optional add on to any facial which is an extra 10 minutes for an extra cost of £5.

How does it work?

Here’s a breakdown of what a general facial usually includes:

  • Consultation / Skin Analysis – we discuss and examine your skin to ensure the treatment is tailored to your needs.
  • Cleansing –  your face is thoroughly cleansed using the appropriate cleanser for your skin type to remove makeup, oil, dirt and impurities.
  • Exfoliation – dead skin cells are removed using a scrub, enzyme peel, or mild chemical exfoliant.
  • Extractions (optional) – manual removal of blackheads or whiteheads, especially around the nose, chin and forehead. This step is skipped if the skin is very sensitive or if extractions are not necessary or not included in that treatment.
  • Massage – a relaxing facial massage helps with circulation, lymphatic drainage and stress relief, including the face, neck and shoulders.
  • Mask – a facial mask is applied based on your skin type and concerns (e.g., hydrating, purifying, soothing). Left on for about 10–15 minutes depending on treatment.
  • Toner – helps balance the skin’s pH and remove any residue from the mask.
  • Moisturising – a moisturiser appropriate for your skin type is applied to hydrate and protect.
